Entertainment

Entertainment assets are amongst the most complex — and most misunderstood — in the world of structured finance.

    SONY/ATV

Our partners previously restructured, hedged, managed, and traded the Sony/ATV royalty library, co-owned at the time by Michael Jackson and Sony. Lowering the rate to the borrower (Mr. Jackson) while simultaneously lowering the RWAs for the bank holder by using unique hedges and structuring to enhance value for all involved.

    FILM FINANCINGS & VALUATIONS

Corvid Partners has financed, structured, and advised on numerous film and streaming projects, serving as a trusted consultant to key industry stakeholders during all phases: pre-production, production, post-production, and beyond.

A music royalty stream is not a bond. A film slate is not a loan. But both can be financed, valued, hedged, and structured like one — if you know what you're doing.

Corvid's involvement in entertainment finance is not a pivot or an adjacency. It is a direct extension of what we have always done: find the real value in assets that markets price poorly, structure around that value intelligently, and help clients understand what they actually own.

Corvid Entertainment partners with leading voices in film, music, sports, and media to address industry complexity with agile, strategic solutions.

Our experience here is specific and hard-won. Corvid’s founding partners’ scope ranges from trading Bowie Bonds and film slates to previously restructuring the Sony/ATV music royalty library — one of the most valuable intellectual property portfolios ever assembled, including the full Beatles catalog — restructuring the financing, deploying unconventional hedges to cut borrowing costs by more than half, and reducing RWAs for the bank holder to investment-grade levels simultaneously. That transaction required treating a music catalog with the same analytical rigor one would apply to a distressed corporate credit or a structured product: modeling the cash flows, stress-testing the assumptions, and building a structure that worked for every party at the table.

We bring that same approach to every entertainment engagement — whether it is a film slate financing, a streaming content library valuation, a music royalty securitization, or the structuring of a live events business.

We help clients see where the real exposures lie, to assure every decision is made with clarity and confidence.

Entertainment financing is opaque, relationship-driven, and full of assets that are genuinely difficult to value. That describes every market Corvid has ever worked in.
